The Melbourne Cup may have passed for another year, but for many the peak horse riding season is only just beginning.

To mark the occasion, we've gathered some of the best horse-friendly properties on the market right now, from larger scale properties that could be used for an equestrian business to gorgeous lifestyle properties with all the facilities a horse enthusiast could ever need.

Located less than ten minutes from the NSW town of Yass, this property, known as 'Walgrove Ranch', has a plethora of potential future uses.

There is a separate driveway entrance for the house and equine facilities, assuring privacy for any new owners.

It's on the market with a price tag of $1.7 million with Kennedy & Hunt Gisborne.

There's plenty of room for the entire family - horse and humans - at this Dubbo property, located opposite the Dubbo race course.

A portable 25 stall stable facility is available for inclusion in the sale and there's also development approval for a race horse business in place, according to the listing.

It's on the market with Belle Property Daylesford with price on request.

Listing agent Natalie Fagan nominated the property's privacy and views as among its best features.

This property in Table Top, just north of Albury, is currently home to horse training stables Moondyne Cutting Horses.

Equestrian facilities on the 36.43 hectare block, known as 'Grandview Park', include a sand indoor arena with viewing room and a stable complex with feed and tack room.

In addition to the three-bedroom home there's two one bedroom flats, perfect for staff accommodation.

It's up for auction on November 25 with Brian Liston of Nutrien Harcourts Victoria.

Mr Liston said that the property had a guide of $1.48 million to $1.53 million.

He said the properties horse infrastructure was one of its best features, with plenty of "horse lovers" having already shown interest in the property.
