Surf Life Saving Australia is again offering VACSWIM classes around Kangaroo Island over the holidays.
Bec Bennett and her local team of instructors will meanwhile also offer her Swim KI program at the Parndana pool.
VACSWIM is a government funded initiative that's been providing South Australian primary school children with water knowledge for more than 50 years.
On KI, the VACSWIM classes are being offered at Emu Bay, Vivonne Bay and Penneshaw.
VACSWIM gives kids (aged 3-12) confidence in and around the water! Programs are offered as five-day blocks.
The enrolment fee is only $30, thanks to the SA government subsidy with family enrolments are capped at $100. There may also be an equipment fee of $1.50. All enrolments must be completed online.
While VACSWIM is for pre-school and primary school aged children, some locations however hold parallel programs.
For beaches, children aged up to 15 can enroll to complete their Community Surf Rescue Certificate.
