Advance Kingscote Progress Associaiton members have strung up new solar-powered Christmas lights along the entrance road into town.

John Clements said the original solar powered Christmas lights that had been placed in the trees on the entrance to Kingscote along Kohinoor Road had passed their serviceable life and were due for replacement.

The feedback to Advance Kingscote Progress on having lights in the trees had been very positive, he said.

The Red Cross kindly donated solar powered Christmas Lights to the association, and a working party of volunteers on Sunday, Nov. 28 removed all of the old lights, pruned back trees and reinstalled the new solar-powered lights.

The association meanwhile is excited to see plans taking shape for the annual Drakes Advance Kingscote Christmas Pageant, set to take place at the town oval at 6pm on Friday, Dec. 17.

There will be a DJ and music, kids lolly bags, food vans, face painting, market stalls, the Lions train and carousel and, of course, Santa.
